Day 1 - The Lake District near the Irish Sea
The public foot paths of England cross through many hundreds of fields and pastures. While the right of passage is guaranteed to the pubic, the walkers must respect the land, farms and livestock. These steps made from long stones extending from the wall allow walkers to cross over while keeping livestock within. John goes over the first stile, with Margaret, Barb, Paul and Stevie following.
